Michelle and Doug had already had an engagement session done for their save the dates last year before they hired me, BUT I wanted to make sure we got together for a session before their wedding to make sure everyone would be comfortable on their big day. Their wedding is in less than a month!! I’m so glad we had to chance to shoot together – engagement sessions are when I take time to bond with my couples plus we practice all the poses for their wedding day! That way if things get short on time (um, hello, it’s a wedding, things are almost always running behind) we can make up for it during portraits since my couples are practically professional models by that point *wink wink*.
We had so much fun walking around Stoney Creek Metro Park together and going to some of my favorite spots. Although the sun didn’t come out and it was a big chilly for mid-June, I actually loved it because there weren’t a lot of people at the park that day! It didn’t take much to get these two laughing with each other. In fact, as you can see, it was tough to snap Michelle NOT laughing. I imagine that her laugh is something Doug fell in love with right away, and his ability to make her laugh is what made her fall in love with him. I feel a special connection with Doug and Michelle because my husband is an engineer like Doug, and they met online just like me and my husband! I cannot wait to continue capturing their joy together at their wedding next month at the Packard Proving Grounds!
