I’ve been anticipating this lifestyle newborn session with the Thornsberry family ever since their adorable maternity session in May! As with any new family, when I arrived at their house, things were still a little crazy. Little Jaxon was just jumping in the tub to scrub off an afternoon of planting with Grandma. But I was a thousand percent okay with that, because that meant I got a little snuggle time with Baby Kaci!! It also meant that I had a little extra time to practice wrapping her in the newborn cloths I brought along. I usually tend to stray away from “posed” newborn sessions – I just love the authenticity of the family just hanging out and snuggling their new baby. But the cute wraps and hats have just been calling me name lately, so I decided to give it a real try with Kaci…and I’m so glad I did! She looked so cute wrapped up and that pink bow was just perfect on her!
We attempted some group shots outside since Michigan has been so warm this summer, unfortunately Jax took the opportunity to do about a hundred laps around the yard, so we headed back in for some classic photos in front of the window while he ate his (hard-earned) popsicle. Kaci, of course, only slept for about 10 minutes the entire time I was there. I have some special touch with newborns that makes them stay awake during all my sessions! Better awake and happy than crying is what I always say. I’m so grateful that the Thornsberry family chose me as their photographer for this special time in their lives and cannot wait to watch their family grow in the future!
