I share a special place in my heart for Miss Aubrey! I met her mom, Holley, and grandma, Shelly, at one of those paint and drink wine parties for a mutual friend. Afterwards they contacted me for a maternity session for Holley. A couple months later, I was able to meet them again at home after Aubrey was born to take newborn photos of her. I remember how she was only happy while being rocked and loved on by Holley or Shelly – already wanting to be the center of attention! I have been so grateful that I’ve gotten to take photos of Aubrey every 3 months since then, documenting her first year! She is such a little sweetheart with a smile that makes everyone else in the room smile, too.

For Aubrey’s smash-cake session, we decided on a purple and teal theme to match the theme of her upcoming birthday party. Before we let her dig in, I took some “natural” shots of her during which she decided to make all the funny faces she knew how to! She just cracked us up! It was also tough to keep her in one spot: Aubrey crawls faster than any baby I’ve ever met! Once we brought the cake out, she didn’t need ANY help making a huge mess! She kept looking up at her mom as if she was saying, “Are you SURE I’m allowed to do this?” All in all, we had SO much fun together and I am so happy I was able to be a part of Aubrey’s journey to turning one!

Oh gosh these colors are beautiful! You are a family photographer in Michigan? I’m sending my sister your contact info!

This is such a sweet family session – I love all of the colors on the pinwheels! Michigan is lucky to have such an amazing photographer like you! Stunning work.
