When Mady asked if I’d be willing to travel to Traverse City to photograph her senior portraits, I didn’t even hesitate to say yes! Not only do I LOVE the idea of doing a destination session (because you’ll have the MOST unique senior portraits out of any of your friends), but my best friend (since high school!) lives in TC so I’m always down for a reason to go visit! I was a little nervous only because it would be my first time letting my clients pick all the locations for shooting without me knowing what they look like ahead of time. But Mady and her mom did a fantastic job of scouting out some perfect spots for photos!
We met up at a local winery that looked just like a castle! I could have spent ALL day photographing there, but alas, we had other locations to get to that night. I absolutely loved Mady’s romper/dress that she wore at the winery, don’t you?? Next we headed all the way up to the tip of the peninsula to the Old Mission Lighthouse. Mady’s blue dress on the beach was perfection! Spoiler alert: those are actually my flip-flops in the photos! Our last stop was a huge sunflower field on the other side of the water. It’s always been a dream of mine to photograph a beautiful girl in a sunflower field – another check off my bucket list! Although it got cloudy and there were about a zillion mosquitoes, these are definitely some of my favorite photos of the entire session, and maybe even of my career thus far!
