The Atkins Family holds such a special place in my heart. Kelsey and Shea were the first people to “just find me” on Google and book me for a session! Ironically it turned out we had some friends in common, but we didn’t know that ahead of time! Their engagement session was one of my first couple sessions that I absolutely loved! Unfortunately I couldn’t photograph their wedding since my daughter was born just a few weeks before their wedding date, but I was able to shoot their 1 year anniversary pictures last fall. So when my fall calendar started getting booked up, I reached out to Kelsey to see if they wanted to do a 2 year anniversary session. When she replied that it would be a newborn session this year, I got goosebumps! YAY! One of my absolute favorite thing about being a photographer is getting to participate in these huge milestones with my clients and seeing them grow as individuals and as families!
I was even more excited when I walked into their home in Royal Oak to find their walls covered in photos that I had taken for them! There is seriously nothing more flattering than seeing my work as decor in someone’s house <3 All the photos they had printed were in black and white to match their neutral tone decor in their house, so below I’ve included the black and white copies from their session. Honestly, sometimes I love the black and whites so much more than the color images, I’m tempted to just deliver a whole gallery in black and white and see what they say!
Congrats again, Kelsey and Shea, on your beautiful baby boy: William August. I am so excited to watch your little family continue to grow!
